Pest control is vital to protecting our quality of life, food and water sources, and environment. How pest control is achieved is just as vital to the long-term safety and sustainability of our health, buildings, and natural resources. This course discusses how integrated pest management (IPM) suppresses pest populations in effective, economical, and environmentally safe ways, and details how to establish an IPM plan for a facility, including LEED® building projects.

Background: Daniel Mackie is the Technical Service Director at Greenleaf Pest Control. Mr. Mackie holds a business degree from York University and is a graduate with honours from Sir Sandford Fleming College with an Environmental Pest Management Diploma. Daniel has over 15 years of experience in the pest management industry in various capacities from Service Technician to Corporate Quality Assurance. Daniel developed the Green Pest Management Program currently adopted by Greenleaf Pest Control and continues his mission to provide “Next Generation Pest Management Services” whether through public education/outreach or in Greenleaf’s pest control programs.
