Manufacturing companies are seeing an increased demand for sustainable products. This course discusses what drives the requests for sustainable products and how to incorporate sustainable choices within each step of the design and construction phases, including understanding what makes a product sustainable, what to look for when specifying a product and manufacturer, and how sustainable choices throughout the phases can have a positive impact on the construction project.

Background: Cambria McLeod is a Senior Staff Engineer, working in Codes and Standards for Kohler Company. She holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering, an MA in Economics, is a LEED AP, and has completed the UCLA Plumbing Systems Design Course. After working as a structural analyst in the aerospace industry, Cambria joined Kohler in 2006 working in various roles from quality to sales to codes and standards. As a California resident, Cambria is both personally and professionally focused on California's water concerns and enjoys studying indoor water use regulations. She works to understand regulatory impacts and helps provide solutions that promote indoor water conservation without sacrificing performance. In addition to participating in nationwide codes, standards, and regulations, Cambria works with local industry associations, promoting open dialogue on these topics.
