Architectural precast concrete products are versatile, sustainable, affordable, and resilient. This course examines the advantages of building with them and discusses the production process, unique characteristics, and installation of architectural precast concrete’s three main product groups.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Identify the three main types of architectural precast concrete and explain how they are made and the advantages of using them in new building and restoration projects.
  • Demonstrate how architectural precast concrete products can create efficiencies in the scheduling and construction of entire buildings, building components, and decorative accents.
  • Recognize why architectural precast concrete products can help a building project meet sustainability goals and leave a smaller environmental footprint than other building methods.
  • Discuss the inherent attributes of architectural precast concrete and show why it is specified to meet a range of construction requirements, including structural, aesthetic, acoustic, fire and chemical resistance, low maintenance, resilience, and energy efficiency needs.
