Highlights some of the characteristics of PVC membranes and describes the role of PVC roofing as a component in the design of sustainable high-performance buildings. Provides a review and discussion of some of the environmental aspects of PVC-based roofing products."

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

• Analyze how sustainable roofing fabrication processes minimize embedded toxins and VOCs, enabling architects to specify materials that safeguard long-term indoor air quality for building occupants
• Evaluate how factory-controlled fabrication tolerances improve field installation accuracy, reducing the risk of premature roof failures, water intrusion, and hazardous mold growth.
• Identify how to specify roofing products manufactured with high recycled or renewable content to reduce environmental degradation and meet green building standards.
• Determine how precise material detailing and fabrication align with strict building and fire codes to enhance the overall structural resilience of the built environment.
