Intro to Sustainability with Spray Polyurethane Foam

Intro to Sustainability with Spray Polyurethane Foam

Changes made to spray polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation formulations in recent years address the impacts of embodied carbon and other attributes of sustainable construction design. This course explores the evolution and environmental impacts of SPF chemistries, and how the sustainability benefits of spray polyurethane foam (also known as SPF), contributes to high performance construction design

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Discuss the chemistry advancements in spray foam chemistry, including impacts and evolution blowing agents, renewable and recycled raw material usage and low-VOC formulation. State the value and use of sustainability qualifications meet environmental program criteria and can potentially contribute to LEED v4 credits.
  • Summarize the sustainability benefits of SPF insulation and roofing systems pertaining to thermal performance and energy use, air barrier performance, durability and resiliency, interior comfort and indoor air quality

Approximately 30 minutes. Delivered via webinar or face-to-face presentation. Available sessions shown below.
