An Architect’s Role in Meeting New ASTM F3731 Requirements for Gym Equipment

Founder and CEO of sports equipment manufacturer Bison, Inc. shares insights gained during 40 years in the industry and from recently serving on the ASTM committee to develop equipment requirements to improve safety and reduce liability related to overhead gym equipment including ceiling suspended and wall mounted basketball equipment. Prior to the new standards approved in late 2024, specifiers only had to include NHFS, NCAA and FIBA standards for sports equipment. Additionally, strategies gathered from experienced industry experts to promote successful and profitable sports facility construction projects that include 11 66 23 and 11 66 53 will be shared with listeners.
