Acoustic comfort is a critical yet often overlooked aspect of high-performing buildings. This course equips architects and designers with the knowledge to design and specify interior wall and ceiling assemblies that deliver effective sound control, occupant comfort, and environmental performance. Participants will examine how fiberglass, mineral wool, and recycled denim batt insulation materials influence STC and NRC ratings, explore how to integrate these materials into resilient wall and ceiling assemblies, and learn how to balance cost, constructability, and sustainability goals. The session concludes with practical installation guidance and an introduction to modeling tools that help validate design performance in real-world applications.
