Tensile Architecture & Fabric Structures

Few methods of building match the drama and delight of lightweight tensile structures. Tensile structures consist of cables and fabric in tension. Uniquely, the architectural membrane forms both the structure and skin of the building envelope. The cables carry the gravity loads while stability and resistance to wind uplift is provided by the weight of the roof deck system.

The most important international trade show for the stone industry is Marmomacc. It is an ideal venue to directly source stone for commercial projects and to see the full spectrum of materials available for residential applications. Each year, the show also features a number of architectural exhibits and conferences devoted to designing with dimensional stone.

Veronafiere organizes a five-day long AIA Continuing Education course during Marmomacc. The goal of the course is to encourage the use of natural stone in contemporary architecture. Veronafiere has been an AIA/CES provider since 1999. In the past six years, more than 90 architects from the U.S. were joined by 70 architects from around the world in attending the course.
