Jacobs Receives Contract From U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

PASADENA, Calif., Aug. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that a subsidiary company received a contract from the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, to provide architectural/engineering services for various military and Army Reserve projects primarily within the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division mission boundaries. The Louisville District Army Reserve mission is nationwide. Projects outside the primary mission area of responsibility may be added at the government's discretion upon agreement of the A/E firm. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a 3-year, $12 million base period followed by a 2-year, $8 million option period. Jacobs is providing a variety of services including architecture; interior design; structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering; cost estimating; and construction phase engineering services. The contract is primarily intended to carry out the design requirements of the U.S. Army Reserve construction program using Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIM utilizes computer-aided design technology with 'intelligent' information loaded in three-dimensional models.
