Cambria Donates 260 Square Feet of Natural Quartz Surfaces to Governor's Residence Renovation

August 23, 2006

Historic Remodel of Residence Will Feature Cambria on Countertops, Desks and Windowsills INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Cambria, the only producer of natural quartz surfaces in the U.S., has donated its product to be used in six rooms at the newly remodeled Governor's Residence. Cambria is a stain-resistant, non-porous surface that is harder, stronger and easier to care for than granite, limestone and marble because it does not require sealing. A variety of Cambria's colors and uses will be showcased in several rooms in the Governor's Residence including three kitchens, two bathrooms, the business center and on several window sills throughout the home. "We are very excited to be part of this historic remodeling project," said Ian Thorburn, Cambria's Director of Brand Management. "Not only are a variety of Cambria colors featured throughout the remodel, but some new uses of our product will also be evident throughout the house. For instance, visitors will notice several window sills made out of Cambria in the kitchens and desktops made out of our surface in the business center." Cambria opened a 58,000 square foot state-of-the-art fabrication facility in Indianapolis in 2004 and since then has consistently expanded in the marketplace. More than 260 square feet of the Cambria quartz surfaces, a value of $21,000, was used in the project. Santarossa Mosaic & Tile Co., Inc., and Cathedral Marble & Granite installed the product throughout the residence. The Governor's Residence will be open for public tours August 24-27 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. With a suggested $10.00 donation, visitors will tour the Residence and receive a commemorative brochure and ticket. Proceeds from the tour will go to the Governor's Public Building Foundation for future upkeep and maintenance of the Residence.
