SAFEXIT Saves Lives

September 11, 2006

SHARON, Pa., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Winner Global Defense announces SAFEXIT, a product designed to save the lives of people trapped in high-rise buildings. SAFEXIT is a controlled descent device providing an alternate means of escape in case of an emergency, such as fire or terrorism, when no other means of escape exists. SAFEXIT uses patented Israeli technology and was invented after the tragedy of 9/11 where many people lost their lives after jumping from the World Trade Center. Suitable for homes, apartments, or offices, the device is installed within a specially designed door or directly into walls. In time of an emergency, SAFEXIT is immediately available. Occupants strap themselves into one of two provided harnesses in the system and make their way to the nearest window or balcony. Using a cable and harness system, SAFEXIT safely lowers the user at a controlled speed of approximately 3.3 feet per second. Each unit has two harnesses at either end of a coated steel cable, allowing the second person to begin their descent after the first person has reached the ground safely. The unit continuously operates until all who are using the device have reached the ground safely. The system can carry loads between 68 and 400 pounds allowing parents to safely and easily carry children with them. Operating without any dependence on electricity, which is often out during times of emergencies, the system has met the rigid requirements of the Standards Institute of Israel as well as other countries. This technology has also been seen on National Geographic's series "Escape Technology." "The technology is already in use in buildings in Russia, Japan and Israel," said Mike Gjede, VP of Winner Global Defense. "This system can be installed into new or existing buildings, easily integrated within the interior design when not in use, and is safe, secure and reliable." SAFEXIT has already been demonstrated in the United States and is now available for installation. Winner Global Defense is a privately held company, formed for the purpose of providing products aimed at serving the homeland security and military defense markets, to protect citizens in times of threat, be it natural (earthquake, fire) or terroristic in nature.
