Whirlpool Corporation Launches Complement of Design and Education Options at 2007 AIA Convention

Whirlpool Booth Offers AIA Continuing Education (CE) Opportunities, Google SketchUp Seminars, Latest Appliances and More SAN ANTONIO (Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Booth #11091) (May 3, 2007) – In addition to showcasing the company’s powerful portfolio of brands during this year’s AIA Convention, Whirlpool Corporation is expanding its entire offering of AIA CE opportunities for architects. Three new courses will be offered in the Innovation Learning Center, a new video podcast series will be unveiled and a new course has been added to Whirlpool Corporation’s online curriculum. Architects can also enter to win an Apple iPod and other prizes. Innovation Learning Center Programs for CE Course Credit At the Innovation Learning Center in the booth, convention attendees will have the opportunity to earn CE credit by taking three new exclusive educational programs. Each 15-minute course is worth one-quarter of a unit toward CE requirements. The series focuses on designing residential spaces using SketchUp Software and 3-D models from the new Sweets3D Collection in the Google® 3D Warehouse. Alex Oliver and Mike Tadros, SketchUp experts and founders of the company, School, created and produced the Whirlpool CE Video Podcast Series and will hold SketchUp seminars at the booth. Having taught SketchUp all over the world and as two of only six Google certified instructors of SketchUp, Oliver and Tadros will also demonstrate how the design community can benefit from quick, easy 3-D models for conceptual stages of design. School teaches the fundamentals of SketchUp through an interactive DVD and uses forums and a weekly podcast named “The SketchUp Show” to generate an ongoing conversation and share tips for using the software.
