Amana Introduces the First Dry-Erase Refrigerator in the U.S.

February 04, 2008

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (February 4, 2008) – As part of its ongoing commitment to providing homeowners with great style and practical features, Amana is introducing the Jot(TM) refrigerator. Featuring a dry-erase finish on the door panel, the Jot refrigerator is the first dry-erase refrigerator in the United States and can be used to record messages, manage schedules, draw pictures or compete in a friendly game of tic-tac-toe right on its exterior surface. Dry erase markers make doodles easy to erase, wiping away concerns that temporary messages and artwork will become permanent. The Jot refrigerator’s sleek design, including rounded edges and corners, combined with hidden hinges and an integrated door handle, round out the refrigerator’s contemporary, seamless look. Amana is partnering with Crayola(R) to provide blue and black dry-erase markers with each Jot refrigerator. “Amana brand is committed to providing homeowners with quality appliances that simplify home living,” says Tracy Frye, senior contract marketing manager at Whirlpool Corporation. “The Jot takes functionality to the next level by promoting creativity in everyday kitchens while offering convenience for today’s busy families.” Whirlpool Corporation is the world’s leading manufacturer and marketer of major home appliances, with annual sales of approximately $18 billion, more than 73,000 employees, and more than 70 manufacturing and technology research centers around the world. The company markets Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Gladiator, Brastemp, Bauknecht, and other major brand names to consumers in nearly every country around the world.
