CertainTeed Introduces New ProRoc(R) Moisture and Mold Resistant Gypsum Board With M2Tech Technology for Interior Walls and Ceilings

VALLEY FORGE, Pa., March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- CertainTeed Corporation, a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain of Paris, the world's leading producer of gypsum products, announces the introduction of ProRoc(R) Moisture and Mold Resistant Gypsum Board with M2Tech(TM) technology. ProRoc Gypsum Board is a high-strength, uniformly flat wallboard, designed for use on interior walls and ceilings in residential, commercial and institutional applications. It is lightweight, easy to cut and install over steel or wood framing and may be finished and painted using conventional gypsum board techniques. CertainTeed's new M2Tech platform gives ProRoc moisture resistance and enhanced protection against mold growth utilizing a water-resistant core and a moisture- and mold-resistant paper facing. For fire-rated assemblies, ProRoc Moisture and Mold Resistant Gypsum Board with M2Tech is available in Type X, which is designed for applications requiring extended fire ratings where enhanced moisture and mold resistance is preferred. The M2Tech offering achieves a score of 10 for mold resistance per ASTM D 3273, the highest possible score for this test. In addition, all of CertainTeed's ProRoc Gypsum Wallboard meets ASTM C 1396 criteria.
