Company Encourages Employees and Suppliers to Promote Energy Efficiency in Homes and Commercial Buildings to Achieve U.S. Energy Independence TOLEDO, Ohio, March 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Owens Corning, a world leader in building materials and glass fiber reinforcements, today announced its support for T. Boone Pickens' Virtual March on Washington April 1 - 3, an effort to achieve energy efficiency and independence while reducing America's dependence on foreign oil. Owens Corning, the first official corporate supporter of the Pickens Plan, will encourage its U.S. employees and suppliers to participate in the Virtual March, encouraging them to call, e-mail, fax, and meet with members of Congress about the immediate need for developing a comprehensive U.S. energy plan -- that includes energy efficiency in homes and commercial buildings. For three days, virtual marchers in Pickens' "New Energy Army" will contact members of Congress with the goal of making more than 1 million impressions to stress the importance of comprehensive national energy reform.
