Company Offers Broadest Line of Drywall Interior Finishing Products that Meet Industry's Most Stringent Indoor Air Quality Standards NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--National Gypsum, one of the world's leading gypsum board manufacturers based in Charlotte, N.C., has achieved GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified(R) status for its complete line of ProForm(R) BRAND joint compounds. The company announced the certification today at the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry (AWCI) Convention and INTEX EXPO 2009 in Nashville. “National Gypsum is proud to offer the broadest line of gypsum and related products to have achieved the industry's most stringent indoor air quality standards, and to be the only manufacturer to offer a complete line of GREENGUARD Certified joint compounds,” said John Ferretti, general manager, interior finishing products. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates indoor air can be up to two to five times more polluted than outdoor air, which means Americans’ health could be at significant risk given many adults spend up to 90 percent of their time inside. Building certification programs such as the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System(TM) and the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) have identified indoor air quality as a key contributor to the overall health, safety and productivity of building occupants and a key component of sustainable design. “The ProForm joint compound line's certification is the latest demonstration of our ongoing commitment to sustainable building practices and indoor environmental quality,” said John Mixson, National Gypsum's director of marketing and the head of the company's sustainability efforts.
