Casteel Heating and Cooling is announcing that many of their HVAC units can help people qualify for a $1,500 tax rebate, as well as an additional $1,900 in additional rebates and savings, helping residents save up to a total of $3,400. "There is no better time to replace your HVAC unit," says Casteel Vice President John Hillis. "We're providing Casteel and manufacturer savings, up to $1,900 because we support the Obama administration's vision for making the country more energy efficient. In fact, last year we won Amana's 'Going Green' award for installing more Amana Ultra High Efficiency units than anyone else. Some of our customers have noted that their monthly energy bills dropped 31%." In order to qualify for the tax rebate, air conditioning and heating units have to meet minimum requirements for energy efficiency. AC units must have an Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) of 13 and a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of at least 16. Furnaces must have an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) of at least 95%. Buyers making energy-efficiency improvements to their homes will receive a 30% tax rebate on qualifying purchases, up to the maximum federal rebate of $1,500.
