Proskauer Rose Assists New York Yankees in Making New Stadium a “Model of Accessibility for People with Disabilities,” Leading to Special Commendation of the Yankees by the Department of Justice

April 28, 2009

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As the New York Yankees open the doors of the new Stadium to the public, international law firm Proskauer Rose is proud to have advised the Yankees on a full range of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility issues relating to the development, construction and operation of the magnificent facility. This extensive effort culminated when the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) and the US Attorney's office held a press conference to declare the Stadium a "model of accessibility for people with disabilities." "I want to thank our counsel from Proskauer Rose, Carolyn Gray, Joshua Stein and Rich Goldstein, and the entire team from Proskauer," said Randy Levine, President of the New York Yankees. "They worked so hard and did a lot of great work to get us where we are today." Mr. Goldstein, along with a team led by Ms. Gray and Mr. Stein, all of Proskauer Rose's Accessibility and Accommodations Practice Group, represented the Yankees throughout the process. "We have had a long relationship with the Yankees and are extremely proud to have been able to assist them in this important effort," said Mr. Goldstein. "This was a rewarding conclusion to a major project, which required great insight into developing bodies of law combined with the new rulemaking process," noted Ms. Gray. "We are thrilled to have been able to help the Yankees reach such an exemplary result," added Mr. Stein.
