DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Energy Future Holdings Corp. (EFH) selected lauckgroup, a leading Dallas-based interior architecture and design firm, to redesign its 130,000-square-foot corporate headquarters located at Energy Plaza, 1601 Bryan, in downtown Dallas. When completed, the facility will be one of the most sustainable corporate headquarter locations in Dallas and hold a U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) for Commercial Interiors (CI) designation. EFH, formerly TXU Corp., a Dallas-based, privately held energy company with a portfolio of competitive and regulated energy subsidiaries, will continue to consolidate its operations in Energy Plaza. "As we are a company that advocates energy efficiency and conservation, we feel that our corporate headquarters should reinforce our message of environmental stewardship," said Bob Keith, EFH's Director of Facility & Building Services. "Our new space really does just that. Not only has it helped consolidate our workforce, but in a pleasing, work friendly and environmentally sound environment." A key priority for EFH has been to use environmentally responsible components throughout the new space, including high-efficiency lighting and sustainable materials. Broader access to daylight, more teaming spaces for collaboration and leading-edge technology have also been integrated into the work environment. Current plans include securing the LEED-CI Gold designation for the new headquarters. "We're working to reuse existing materials, while creating a modern, light-filled work environment for EFH. Our design seeks to blend sustainability, technology and modern design to create both a functional and multipurpose workplace," said Brigitte Preston, design principal, lauckgroup.
