Plug n’ Go technology (patent pending) then recognizes what is connected and automatically configures the space to the most energy efficient operation. For example, when room controllers are connected only to occupancy sensors, they default to automatic-on/off operation. If a switch is added, operation changes to manual-on/automatic-off. When a dual-relay room controller and switches are connected, the system defaults to bi-level automatic-on (auto-on to 50%)/automatic-off operation, which has been shown to provide 52% greater savings than occupancy sensors alone. DLM uses Cat 5e RJ45 cables to connect the room components. This eliminates the majority of labor associated with interpreting wiring diagrams, setting DIP switches, and terminating low voltage wires. This speeds up installation and eliminates the potential for wiring errors. A workspace’s plug loads, largely left uncontrolled, consume 12-14% of electricity in commercial buildings.
