The FNGA and FRLA Team up to "Green Up"

July 09, 2009

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) has added the Florida Natural Gas Association (FNGA) to its list of strategic partners. With restaurants using up to five times more energy per square foot than any other commercial building, the FRLA aims to help its members save money- and take environmental responsibility- through the use of clean, efficient natural gas. Partnering up for mutual gain and growth, both Tallahassee-based groups will learn and benefit through the continual sharing of resources. Through cross-industry networking and various niche marketing efforts, the 2009 collaboration aims to create growth opportunities; combine the organizations’ branding and messaging; increase web traffic; and ultimately, expand the reach of both markets. Promoting the use of natural gas, the FNGA aims to build and retain a stronger presence in Florida's $57 billion restaurant industry, as well as "green up" the food service industry. The FNGA will use FLRA.com to feature natural gas news, energy rebates, exclusive member rates and more. GetGasFL.com, FNGA.com's sister web site, will help drive FRLA membership- and feature multiple efficiency tools, including a carbon footprint calculator and commercial energy benchmark data. The FNGA will facilitate commercial kitchen upgrades by providing recommendations for new natural gas equipment, as well as cash rebates and incentives to offset the initial cost of including natural gas. Beyond the immediate, the FNGA will provide long-term solutions for sustainability and success.
