Company's COOLWALL(R) Technology Can Reduce Energy Demand by More than 21% PANAMA CITY, Fla., July 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Textured Coatings of America (Texcote), a leading manufacturer of specialty coatings for residential and commercial buildings, has been named the "Top Green Coating Project" by the Journal of Architectural Coatings. The designation came as a result of applying Texcote's energy efficient COOLWALL(R) coating system to the Lake Mary, Fla., office building of Burke, Hogue, & Mills Associates Inc., an architectural firm that specializes in sustainable design. COOLWALL Textured Primer and COOLWALL SUPER-COTE were applied to the exterior of the facility and reduced the building's energy demand by up to 21 percent. This helped Burke, Hogue, & Mills achieve LEED Silver status from the U.S. Green Building Council. In choosing COOLWALL, the Journal of Architectural Coatings considered the product's ability to reduce carbon emissions, performance and the product and building's lifecycle. "We are proud to have received this recognition from the Journal of Architectural Coatings," said Jay Haines, President and CEO of Texcote. "We design our textured and smooth coatings not only to be environmentally friendly solutions for all types of buildings, but also aesthetically pleasing for our customers. We are especially pleased that the Journal recognized COOLWALL for the energy savings and low VOCs that it can provide."
