Ohio Green Workforce Training Partnership Awarded $100,000 to Launch Weatherization Training Partnership in Cleveland

Partnership Supports the Growth of Community Weatherization Programs and New Jobs in Ohio. CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--United States Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) joined the National Community Action Foundation (NCAF) and ExxonMobil to award the Ohio Green Workforce Training Partnership with the inaugural grant from the NCAF ExxonMobil Weatherization Training Partnership. The Partnership will receive $100,000 to establish a first-of-its-kind training program that will prepare workers for a career in the growing fields of weatherization and energy efficiency. The announcement took place at the home of Mrs. Twyla Simpson, a local resident receiving weatherization services. Speaking at the event, Senator Brown said, "The weatherization program employs Ohio workers, using Ohio products, to lower energy costs for Ohio homeowners," Brown said. "This program is not just about reducing energy use—it's about job creation and economic development in Northeast Ohio." "The NCAF ExxonMobil weatherization training grant gives us the chance to engage new partners from across sectors to provide local weatherization workers with the very best training Ohio has to offer," Roger McCauley, Executive Director of the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development said.
