Georgia-Pacific Earns NAHB Research Center 'Green Approved' Certifications for Multiple Structural Wood Products

Comprehensive Georgia-Pacific Wood Products Portfolio Helps Builders Earn Points toward National Green Building Certification LAS VEGAS, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Georgia-Pacific Wood Products, a leader in the building and construction industry, announced today that it has achieved "Green Approved" certification from the NAHB Research Center for 13 of its wood and engineered lumber products. "Green Approved" certification means that the Georgia-Pacific products comply with specific green practice criteria in the National Green Building Standard(TM). Builders can earn points toward certification to the Standard by using Georgia-Pacific "Green Approved" products in accordance with both the approved practices described in the Standard and manufacturer installation instructions. The following Georgia-Pacific wood products have been "Green Approved" by the NAHB Research Center: Plytanium® and DryPly® plywood; Blue Ribbon® oriented strand board (OSB); DryGuard® enhanced OSB; Nautilus® wall sheathing; Thermostat® radiant barrier sheathing; Wood I Beam(TM), XJ 85®, and Broadspan® joists; GP Lam® and Broadspan® laminated veneer lumber (LVL); and Fiberstrong® and Broadspan® rim board.
