East Coast Green Conference To Be Held at Bally's Atlantic City, N.J., in September

June 25, 2010

TRENTON, N.J., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Committee on the Environment of the New Jersey chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA-NJ), has announced that its green conference, East Coast Green, will be held at Bally's Atlantic City, N.J., on Sept. 16 and 17, in conjunction with its annual Design Day event. The conference will be preceded on Sept. 15 by a full day of workshops sponsored by the New Jersey chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The theme of the event will be "Meeting the Architecture 2030 Goals." Architecture 2030 is a U.S.-based, environmental advocacy group focused on protecting the global environment by using innovation and common sense to develop, and quickly implement, bold solutions to global warming. The conference will feature 40 presenters, as well as the three keynote speakers: president of Waterkeeper Alliance, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.; founder of "The Architecture 2030 Challenge," Edward Mazria; and internationally recognized proponent and practitioner of sustainability, Bill Reed. In addition, there will be over 30 courses, all of which are eligible for AIA continuing education credit and are pending approval for USGBC credits. "The line-up of keynote speakers at East Coast Green comprises a virtual who's who of the green marketplace," said Jason Kliwinski, AIA, LEED AP, president of AIA-NJ. "That, coupled with the cross-disciplinary collaboration, makes this a one-of-a-kind green building conference." To register, visit the East Coast Green website at www.aia-nj.org/ECG/ and click the "Register to Attend Here" tab. Pricing varies depending on the package -- two-day pass, one-day pass or a la carte items. "Early Bird" rates are available through July 31 as well as discounts for AIA members, government officials, educators and students. Sponsorship and exhibit opportunities are available. Sponsors and exhibitors will have the opportunity to increase their company's visibility in the "greening" consumer markets, as well as to network with leaders and present their products and applications to an audience of early adopters and industry leaders. For information on exhibiting or sponsorship, visit the ECG website or e-mail Jack Purvis, AIA, LEED AP, at ECGsponsors@aia-nj.org.
