BuildingIQ Announces Predictive Energy Optimization Pilot Project with Argonne National Laboratory

September 22, 2010

First U.S. pilot with the Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory SYDNEY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BuildingIQ, an energy management software company, today announced its first Predictive Energy Optimization pilot project in the United States at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Argonne National Laboratory. The BuildingIQ pilot installation, together with Argonne's expertise in optimization and modelling, is expected to improve energy performance at Argonne's Theory and Computing Sciences (TCS) building as well as enable the further collaboration and development of sustainable innovative technologies between BuildingIQ and leading researchers at the facility. The BuildingIQ system has a unique ability to reduce energy usage while minimizing tenant impact. The system automatically learns the building’s thermal characteristics; incorporates weather forecasts, electricity tariffs and other factors such as demand response signals; and then continuously manages the energy use in the building to optimize cost, emissions and occupant comfort.
