ECC Wins Guam Contractors Association (GCA) Excellence in Construction Award

BURLINGAME, Calif., Dec. 15, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- ECC was recently awarded the 2010 GCA Excellence in Construction Award as a Project Category Winner in Environmental/Public Works for executing a $35 million time-critical remediation/civil construction project using indirect thermal treatment to treat contaminated soil at multiple sites throughout Guam. ECC excavated and thermally treated more than 34,000 tons of PCB-contaminated soil at the Former Building 3009, a former Navy transformer maintenance shop on Naval Base Guam, and Navy electrical utility sites located throughout Guam for NAVFAC Pacific. The GCA award recognizes ECC's ability to maximize local participation, to implement value engineering, to use innovative thermal treatment technology, and to overcome obstacles.
