MADRID--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hines announced today that Zielo Shopping Pozuelo has received Gold certification under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® for Core & Shell (CS) rating system. The property is the first shopping center in Europe to attain this designation. It was originally pre-certified to the Silver level. Designed by Alberto Martín Caballero, the three-level, 172,000-square-foot retail center, which opened in October 2009, houses more than 60 shops and restaurants. The property features a large central atrium, which is flooded with natural light, and rooftop terraces with impressive views of the Casa de Campo and the Madrid skyline.
