SAGE also earns local honors from Minnesota’s business community MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SAGE continued its recent string of industry and business accolades when its dynamic SageGlass® took home the 2011 Product of the Year award from USGlass magazine. The USGlass awards are based on what readers consider the most significant new products introduced in 2011. The SageGlass triple-pane glazing product won the “Dynamic Glazing Product of the Year” for being the world’s most energy-efficient window glass. It’s the first glazing product to combine electrochromic glazing technology with highly insulating, triple-pane construction. SageGlass is electronically tintable dynamic glass for windows, skylights and curtain walls that tints or clears at the push of button. It frees architects to use glass in their building designs, allowing building occupants to enjoy natural light and a view to the outdoors. SageGlass modulates light, heat gain and glare. Rather than using conventional sun controls such as mechanized window shades, blinds and louvers that tend to block sunlight and views, SageGlass provides a solution that enhances occupant comfort and enables unobstructed outdoor views. By regulating solar heat gain, it conserves energy and reduces the capacity requirements of HVAC systems. The USGlass and Twin Cities Business honors are the latest in a run of industry recognition and awards that SAGE has received in recent months, including Architectural Products’ Product Innovation Award, the BATIMAT International Innovation Award, and Bloomberg’s New Energy Pioneer award, to name a few.
