SMA Produces First YouTube Video: Crack Reduction Systems

May 23, 2013

The Stucco Manufacturers Association has produced its first in a series of YouTube videos on crack reduction through the use of base-and-mesh systems. You can view this video by going to www.stuccomfgassoc.com and clicking on the YouTube video on the bottom right of the page. The video was written and filmed by Nick Brown of Merlex Stucco and Ted Jones, an outside consultant. The video discusses common cracking issues with stucco and how these crack-reduction systems work to minimize cracking. Footage of application in the field and expert commentary on results with these systems are also in the video. The SMA Board of Directors will be producing more videos dealing with such topics as One Coat Stucco, Lath and Plaster issues and Three Coat issues. It is our mission to educate the public as well as the industry on the benefits of stucco. In 1957, the SMA (Stucco Manufacturers Association) was founded as a nonprofit trade association comprised of the major manufacturers of stucco in North America, as well as their related suppliers. The primary focus is to educate the professionals in the building industry. Architects, specifiers, plastering contractors, building owners, interior designers, color consultants, and suppliers all can benefit from the expertise of the SMA with the use of all their available resources.
