  • This course focused on the design considerations of Data Centers and incorporation of insulated metal panels to achieve superior building performance. Topics include supporting structure design including allowable spans, environmental control layers (air, water vapor, and thermal) code requirements, and fire safety building regulations. How insulated metal panels (IMPs) are used in the HVAC design and function as a "Perfect/Universal" wall system throughout the building.

  • A roofing system is a building's first line of defense against severe weather events. A roofing system must be attached to a roof deck properly to protect the occupants from harm and the building content from damage. Attendees will gain a working knowledge of single-ply system attachment methods, adhesives, fasteners and other accessories, and understand the variety of forces acting upon a roof and how single-ply roofing systems respond to their influence. The presentation will review the impact of environmental codes and standards on roofing system composition to meet ever more stringent air quality, thermal and moisture resistance requirements, and we will explore recent insurance, warranty and code changes affecting the roofing contractor, building owner and facility manager.

There are many kinds of resin-based coatings for metal. The type of resin used plays an important role in determining a coating's durability and physical properties. This course discusses these coatings and their application techniques. It also discusses why the coatings may deteriorate and how to measure the performance of the coatings. The role that resin-based coatings perform in cool roofs is explored along with the standards that measure the sustainability of cool roofs. This course provides the information one needs to ensure that the coated product will perform as expected and provide a durable, long-lasting finish.
