Located in Morris, MB – Norstar Industries began operations in 2003 when two entrepreneurs Ray Waldner and Cam Cornelsen joined forces. Ray came from a manufacturing background; having worked for Meridian Industries and Friesens of Iowa he brought a unique approach to the business. Cam owned a contracting company and had a passion for sales but was looking for a change. The two partners took a concept and ran with it, building u-trough bin unloading equipment for the Western Canadian market. It didn’t take long though; Norstar grew by leaps and bounds doubling its sales in the first few years.
As the company grew, so did the product line offering. Norstar went from building u-trough bin unloads and doing custom fabrication to overhead cross augers, bucket elevators and commercial bin sweeps as well as a line of trench drainage products for the building products industry. As well as growing the product offering, this meant that Norstar needed to add staff to keep up with the demand.
Today, Norstar still focuses on the grain handling market priding itself as a small company with great values, customer service and workmanship. Their products are offered throughout its dealer network from BC to Quebec, south of the border in the USA as well as some international markets like Australia.
Norstar has aligned itself with key players in the agricultural industry and continues to grow. More recently facility expansions have been made to allow for increased production space, a powder coating oven has been installed and the u-trough line has increased in capacity.
Norstar is proud of the company today and looks forward to what the future has to offer.
