Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Explain the importance of surface preparation and how to achieve a clean and level substrate to ensure a long-life soft flooring installation.
  • Discuss industry guidelines for moisture testing of a substrate and the remediation techniques for moisture mitigation and suppression, flatness, and texture for soft flooring installations.
  • Identify the layers of materials used in a soft flooring system and describe their role in creating a durable installation.
  • Discuss the importance of selecting the right adhesive for a soft flooring installation, taking into consideration the type of floor covering, condition of the substrate, and conditions the flooring system will be subjected to.
