Soft Flooring Systems for Performance and Moisture Control
Soft flooring has experienced a surge in popularity in recent years due to its aesthetics, lower costs, durability, and ease of care. This course discusses how to create the optimal soft flooring system through proper substrate and surface preparation.
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
Explain the importance of surface preparation and how to achieve a clean and level substrate to ensure a long-life soft flooring installation.
Discuss industry guidelines for moisture testing of a substrate and the remediation techniques for moisture mitigation and suppression, flatness, and texture for soft flooring installations.
Identify the layers of materials used in a soft flooring system and describe their role in creating a durable installation.
Discuss the importance of selecting the right adhesive for a soft flooring installation, taking into consideration the type of floor covering, condition of the substrate, and conditions the flooring system will be subjected to.
