Introduction to Architectural Precast Concrete
This course is intended to introduce the range of architectural precast concrete products and finish options to members of the design/construction community. Cost and time considerations will be highlighted. Additionally, as a HSW approved CEU, this course will review sustainability, thermal efficiency, building and site safety benefits and the durability of precast concrete.
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
Precast Essentials: This course covers all the basics you need to know about architectural precast concrete. Some key characteristics that will be highlighted are the sustainability, resiliency, and thermal benefits of using precast concrete for your project.
Safety Benefits: Learn the production safety benefits and mainly about the job site benefits that help minimize crews on-site, making for a safer work environment.
Sustainability: Learn how precast concrete is a resilient building material that can accommodate many different manmade or natural disasters. People taking this course will also learn about additional suitability elements including: longevity of buildings, use of green roofs, LEED Certifications, and more.
Design Flexibility: Learn why choosing precast can help a new building fit into a style of the architecture that surrounds it, making it possible to meet your design needs without many limitations.
