Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
Design amenity spaces using interior design principles to support community building, increasing occupant well-being through a connection with nature, and contributing toward the WELL Building Standard™ v2 and SITES® v2 credit requirements.
Describe how soil choice, plant selection, and planter materials can reduce the impact of stormwater runoff and how on-structure green spaces contribute toward LEED v5 Building Design and Construction and SITES v2 credit requirements.
Determine the technical feasibility of installing on-structure green spaces on existing buildings that comply with building codes and reduce the risk of moisture infiltration through the roof membrane.
Explain the environmental impact of urban heat islands and discuss how on-structure green spaces mitigate their impacts and contribute toward LEED v5 Building Design and Construction and SITES v2 credit requirements.
