Universal Plumbing Design for Modern Healthcare
This course explores how Universal Design principles and thoughtful plumbing solutions create healthcare bathrooms and patient care spaces that meet ADA, bariatric/individuals of size, and ligature-resistant requirements. Participants will learn how effective plumbing design enhances the built environment, supports patient safety, improves outcomes, and promotes infection control.
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
Define how plumbing fixture design and hand hygiene help reduce healthcare-associated infections.
Explain the role of plumbing design in the built environment and its impact on patient outcomes.
Describe how safe water delivery systems including modular dialysis box design, support infection control, flexibility, and patient safety.
Discuss plumbing products and design consideration that meet ADA, bariatric/individual of size, and ligature-resistant requirements.
Explain how behavioral healthcare design affects patient safety and outcomes.
