Weatherproof and Protect Waterfalls and Pool Areas with DECK-O-SHIELD

January 29, 2008

Hampshire, IL – DECK-O-SHIELD is a ready-to-use sealer/water repellant for natural stone, concrete and masonry surfaces. DECK-O-SHIELD is designed for use as a sealer/water repellent on waterfalls in or around swimming pools; the product will limit the penetration of water into structurally sound, crack-free surfaces. The product also can be used as a sealer/water repellant for natural stone decks, walkways, or patios; virtually any area located near or around swimming pool areas. A DECK-O-SHIELD-treated surface will inhibit the penetration of salts into the surface, reducing “whitening” or staining. DECK-O-SHIELD weatherproofs and protects virtually all waterfalls, decks, porches, patios, and walkways around pools, including mortar joint, concrete, brick, concrete block and stucco. Another advantage DECK-O-SHIELD provides is that the product will not alter the color or tint of the surface after application. There is no need for worry when applying DECK-O-SHIELD, because the product will have no adverse effects on surface appearance after application. DECK-O-SHIELD is listed by GreenSpec, a directory of environmentally friendly, green building technology. DECK-O-SHIELD is water-based and has a very low VOC content. HACKER INDUSTRIES, INC. RELEASES A NEW POURED FLOOR UNDERLAYMENT FOR LIGHT-GAUGE STEEL FRAME CONSTRUCTION

January 18, 2008

NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF. – January 17, 2008 — With the increased cost of land and the resulting need for higher density projects, Hacker Industries, Inc. unveils a new gypsum concrete floor underlayment formulated for use in buildings with light-gauge steel framing and a corrugated steel deck. FIRM-FILL® CSD™ features the same outstanding qualities of all of Hacker Industries, Inc. cementitious floor underlayments, which assist builders and developers in constructing safe and durable projects while substantially reducing costs. “There are numerous advantages to incorporating FIRM-FILL® CSD™ into multi-family, commercial and institutional buildings with light-gauge steel frame construction,” said Kerry Hacker, vice president of Hacker Industries, Inc. “Steel frame construction with FIRM-FILL® CSD™ allows the benefits of poured gypsum concrete underlayments to be enjoyed by an entirely new type of construction.” Blending high strength and versatility, FIRM-FILL® CSD™ offers a minimum compressive strength of 3500 psi and is installed thinner than typical poured-in-place concrete. Installed at 1” above the top of the steel deck flutes (average nominal thickness is 1-9/16”), FIRM-FILL® CSD™ is significantly lighter thereby reducing deadloads and the related steel framing costs. The remarkable strength and speed of installation of FIRM-FILL® CSD™ provides steel framing projects the flexibility to add floors quickly. The underlayment technology provides a significant scheduling advantage since it dries in approximately 10 days. Under standard drying conditions, FIRM-FILL® CSD™ sets in two hours and tolerates light trade traffic the following day. In addition, FIRM-FILL® CSD™ is UL-rated providing 1, 1-1/2 and 2 hour fire ratings as listed in UL G565. FIRM-FILL® CSD™ is installed on site exclusively by Hacker Industries, Inc.’s trained, Licensed Applicators to ensure product consistency and quality. Hacker Sound Mat II can be added to the system to provide additional sound control and to meet building codes. Celebrating 25 years of excellence, Hacker Industries, Inc. continues to supply the building industry with sound rated, fire resistant and durable cementitious floor underlayments and sound abatement products. With nearly two billion square feet installed nationwide, Hacker Industries, Inc., is the industry leader in customer satisfaction and reliability. StormNET by BOSS International Approved by Delaware Division of Soil and Water Conservation

January 18, 2008

January 18, 2008, Madison, Wisconsin – The Delaware Division of Soil and Water Conservation has accepted StormNET by BOSS International for use in performing stormwater management calculations in accordance with the State of Delaware’s Sediment and Stormwater Regulations. “We are pleased that StormNET has been accepted by the State of Delaware and that it easily passed their NRCS TR-20 benchmark test,” said Chris Maeder, Senior Technical Engineer for BOSS International. Maeder adds, “This approval means that a client can use StormNET for stormwater projects in Delaware with the confidence that their designs will be accepted by state agencies.” Jim Petranek, Senior Account Manager for BOSS International said, “We initially sought approval for StormNET based upon the request of a potential client. We’re all excited about being placed upon the state’s list of approved hydrology models.” Before being accepted, the results from StormNET had to match a test case provided by the Division of Soil and Water Conservation. “Our software contains multiple computational engines including the NRCS TR-20 methodology. This means that matching the benchmark case within a fraction of a percent wasn’t an issue for StormNET,” said Maeder. “Our software performs the same calculations as the NRCS TR-20 model, but our enhanced interface drastically reduces the time needed for model development.” About StormNET StormNET is the most advanced, powerful and comprehensive stormwater and wastewater modeling software available for analyzing and designing urban drainage systems, stormwater sewers and sanitary sewers. StormNET easily interfaces with Autodesk products and is the only model that combines complex hydrology, hydraulics and water quality in a completely graphical, easy-to-use interface. By including various hydrology models such as TR-20, TR-55, Rational Method and EPA SWMM, StormNET can easily address your modeling needs. About BOSS International, Inc. Founded in 1986, BOSS International has been a developer and distributor of hydrology and hydraulics software for over twenty years. In addition to StormNET, BOSS International offers RiverCAD for the modeling of river hydraulics and DAMBRK for dam safety analysis.
