We pioneered the use of PVC membranes as an outdoor walk-on roof and were the first to have an approved single ply roofing membrane. Duradek products are installed by trained, professional applicators to ensure the job is done right, the first time. 3 Duradek Products for 3 Different Exterior Finishes There are 3 Duradek products designed to provide waterproofing solutions on 3 types of exterior finishes. - Duradek Ultra – the Original Walkable Roofing Membrane for flat roof decks and balconies - Duradek Ultra Tiledek – Roofing and Anti-fracture Membrane for under Exterior Tile or Stone - Duradek Ultra Plazadek – Roofing Membrane for under a Floating Deck System Yes, Duradek is Green and Qualifies for LEED points Duradek has an interesting Green story and when compared to products that perform the same function (http://redirect.aecdaily.com/s18122/www.duradek.com/_customelements/uploadedResources/DuradekvsAlternatives.pdf), proves to be, by far, the greener choice. See Duradek’s complete Green story (http://redirect.aecdaily.com/s18122/duradek.blogspot.com/2010/12/is-duradek-really-green-yes.html) and how Duradek qualifies for LEED points (http://redirect.aecdaily.com/s18122/www.duradek.com/leed-credits.html). Duradek Credentials Duradek’s biggest testimonial is the fact that we have been waterproofing flat roofs, decks and balconies for over 36 years. Installation done by trained applicators is what separates Duradek from other vinyl waterproofing companies. For these reasons it has been chosen as one of Mike Holmes solutions (http://redirect.aecdaily.com/s18122/duradek.blogspot.com/2010/06/yes-its-true-mike-holmes-has-chosen-to.html) for a deck repair on Holmes on Homes, as well as various episodes of Extreme Makeover : Home Edition (http://redirect.aecdaily.com/s18122/www.duradek.com/id/388/News.html). Duradek Ultra Tiledek was voted 30 in the Top 100 Products of 2010 (http://redirect.aecdaily.com/s18122/duradek.blogspot.com/2010/09/duradek-ultra-tiledek-has-made-top-100.html) in both Qualified Remodeler and Building Products Magazines. What’s New at Duradek for 2011 In the Spring of 2011, Duradek Ultra is coming out with 2 new colors to complement the popular ‘Cork’ line, ‘Cork Espresso’ and ‘Cork Macchiato’. By mid-April we should be rolling out the newest pattern of Duradek. This will be an exciting new look for the PVC decking industry. Details on that to follow. Duradek introduced the 3rd unique Product line ‘Plazadek’ in late 2010 which has been received with great interest. Voted one of the “Show Toppers” at the 2011 International Builders Show (http://redirect.aecdaily.com/s18122/duradek.blogspot.com/2011/01/show-topper-at-2011-international.html), Plazadek drew a lot of interest. It will soon be featured on a video at Buildipedia.com. What About Railings? Durarail (http://redirect.aecdaily.com/s18122/www.duradek.com/Durarail.html?) is a powder coated aluminum railing and fencing system manufactured by Duradek. AGREEMENT BETWEEN VERONAFIERE AND CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE: INTERNATIONAL PROMOTION SERVICES PLATFORM FOR NATURAL STONE COMPANIES

February 14, 2011

Support activity on international markets for a sector of excellence for Made in Italy technologies and design. Verona, 11 February 2011. A new platform of international promotion services is available to companies in the natural stone and related machinery sector - one of the fields of excellence for Made in Italy technology and design - comprising thousands of small-medium companies fighting to maintain levels achieved over the years through investments and development; today, these companies must compete on markets that are increasingly stiff and often lacking in the rules that are the hinge pin of the European economic-social system. Against this background, VeronaFiere - the organiser of Marmomacc (International Exhibition of Natural Stone, Technology and Design in Verona 21-24 September 2011, www.marmomacc.com), the most important and complete exhibition in the world (with more than 1500 exhibitors from 56 countries and 56 thousand visitors of which 48.5% from 132 countries at the last edition) - has implemented the agreement signed two years ago with Confindustria Marmomacchine, the Confederation of Industry reference association for the Italian natural stone and related machinery sector that represents more than 330 companies embracing producers of stone materials and manufacturers of quarrying and processing machinery and equipment. Collaboration is now strengthened through the development of new assets, such as the preparation of market studies, training and activity to procure finance for the development of promotional activities. In the context of the international scope of the platform, another a strategic aspect of the agreement concerns attendance at events and joint and shared management of new exhibition events or commercial initiatives in areas experiencing major development such as Brazil, China, India and the Persian Gulf, be they promoted and organised by VeronaFiere (such as Marmomacc and StonExpo Marmomacc Americas) or Confindustria Marmomacchine (on average 15-20 events per year on the main international markets). The first positive results sono emerged from StonExpo Marmomacc Americas at the end of last January in Las Vegas, which was attended by as many as twenty companies which achieved important commercial returns. The exhibition, the outcome of the strategic agreement between VeronaFiere and Hanley Wood Exhibitions, was held alongside Surfaces, the cladding exhibition, and Las Vegas Market, an event dedicated to interior furnishing, which overall attracted 900 exhibitors and more than 70 thousand buyers to the capital of Nevada. The next development of the agreement is co-organisation, together with Riyadh Exhibition Co., of Saudi Stone Tech, scheduled next 16-19 October in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where VeronaFiere and Confindustria Marmomacchine have created an “exhibition inside an exhibition” for the natural stone sector, where Italian attendance will be organised.

GROUNDBREAKING REPORT DESCRIBES A WORLD 100% RELIANT ON RENEWABLE ENERGY BY 2050

February 03, 2011

3 February, 2011 – The Energy Report: a comprehensive study developed by the WWF, AMO and Ecofys claiming that the world can be 100% reliant on renewable energy by 2050, launches globally today. The report proposes to address the urgent problems caused by looming climate change and dwindling fossil fuel supply through its assertion that by 2050, the world’s energy needs could be met entirely by renewable sources. It outlines an ambitious energy saving scenario as the first step toward an energy system in which fossil fuels are gradually replaced by wind, solar, geothermal, hydropower and sustainable forms of bio-energy. The aim of the report is to inspire governments and businesses to understand the challenges associated with this shift and, at the same time, to encourage them to move boldly to bring the renewable economy into reality. By demonstrating the advantages of global cooperation and the deeper integration of global energy infrastructure, The Energy Report shows that the benefits of a transition to renewable energy far outweigh the challenges. AMO’s contribution to the report, led by Partner Reinier de Graaf and Associate Laura Baird, both conceptualizes and visualizes the geographic, political, and cultural implications of a 100 percent renewable energy world. AMO draws a vision of a world without borders in which all continents have equal access to sustainable energy. Reinier de Graaf said: “The Energy Report is the first of its kind to claim the technical possibility of a global renewable energy supply by 2050. Through the realization that future energy provision really is a universal issue which must be addressed at a global scale, we have developed a new perspective on the world.” The project builds on two foundational AMO projects on large scale renewable energy planning: Zeekracht, a plan made in 2008 for a ring of offshore wind farms in the North Sea, and Roadmap 2050, proposing a decarbonized European power sector by 2050, which was launched in April 2010.
