While most builders and designers are familiar with structural steel for building support, most are less familiar with the economies and capabilities of cold-formed steel framing. This session shows where code requirements in both the International Building Code (IBC), International Residential Code (IRC), and other code bodies encourage the use of steel framing, and how these framing systems meet and exceed high-wind code and performance requirements for multiple areas across the country. To fully express how CFS performs under testing and pressure conditions, a product comparison between multiple materials (IE: wood vs. steel) will be presented.
