This course lays out the basics of the three most commonly used certifications: LEED, Green Globes and the Living Building Challenge. Building on those foundations, we focus on achieving certification—and minimizing your energy consumption—through efficient use of air movement. Smart air movement shifts the focus of heating and cooling systems from the thermostat onto the building’s occupants. Combining case studies of the nation’s greenest office building, greenest residential dorm and a LEED Gold certified research facility, we’ll follow air movement modeling from theory to application, drawing lessons from architects, engineers and designers in the process.
