FA02 Show Beyond Tolerance: The Making of the U of T Multifaith Centre

Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes

The lecture will focus on the making of a new building type and institution that sought to nurture culture and diversity. It will include the client's perspective describing the circumstances that informed the University of Toronto's decision to create a religious project in 2008, the Multifaith Centre. It also brings the architect's voice, discussing the design, the process and architectural vision. The architect's perspective will touch on how the Multifaith Centre has influenced other projects. The session will provide information about the programs, mandate and uses as well as the architectural resolution of the Centre.

Presented by various experts on behalf of Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC).
