GSA Design and Construction Industry Forum: 'Building Opportunities Together'

November 30, 2007

WASHINGTON, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) brought together private-sector construction professionals including architects, engineers and general contractors at its first Design and Construction Industry Day Forum. Under the theme of "Building Opportunities Together," 400 forum attendees networked with GSA leadership on project opportunities for the coming year. They also had the chance to meet with regional GSA Property Development Directors one-on-one, learn about policy and program changes in numerous workshops, including how the construction acquisition process works and requirements for submitting a successful construction contract bid. "GSA has a responsibility to provide high-quality workplaces for our federal customer agencies at the best value to the American taxpayer," said David Winstead, GSA's Commissioner for Public Buildings. "Now more than ever, we need strong collaboration with our industry partners and all of our design and construction contractors to achieve successful results in our capital construction program."
