The CityBench is designed by Ignacio Ciocchini for Chelsea Improvement Company. This bench is now a New York City Department of Transportation standard being used for many streetscape projects throughout the metropolitan area. The Bryant Park Litter Receptacles are also designed by Ignacio Ciocchini for Bryant Park Corporation. The custom litters celebrate nature in the center of the city and capture the spirit of this special place. The tulip-petal shapes are delicate in appearance but built to withstand heavy use. Landscape Form’s custom division Studio 431 is the manufacturer for both the CityBench and the Bryant Park Litter Receptacle. Richard Heriford, President of Landscape Forms noted “We are proud of our association with Bryant Park Corporation and Chelsea Improvement Company and congratulate Ignacio Ciocchini for his continued recognition.” The GOOD DESIGN program was founded in Chicago in 1950 by Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr.. The awards aim to give international recognition for designers and manufacturers when they devise innovative products, through invention and originality, beyond what is considered ordinary product and consumer design. One of the main factors for the awards selection is based on whether or not a product can enrich society and people's lives through its design.
